About Hearts and Hands of Hope (H3)
Hearts and Hands of Hope ("H3") is a Christian ministry that serves Coatzingo, a remote agricultural town in Mexico made up of small neighborhoods, and which is the hometown of our founder, Cristina Solis. Cristina has inspired many to join her to address the many needs and challenges that this small town experiences, and thus the H3 ministry was created. Our American team ministry members have included teachers, businessmen, nurses, students, and artists. Our local (Coatzingo) team members include the municipal leaders and school leaders, and various community members including housewives, students, and farmers. Our annual ministry projects are a combination of the skills of our current team, guided by input and feedback from the local team. We look to Christ to give us wisdom and to be flexible in all of our programs, and he has been faithful!
"We encourage a deepened understanding of the beautiful message of God's grace of forgiveness in Jesus, no matter what a person's background may be. We encourage everyone to read God's Word daily and find blessing in obeying it."
Through various activities and service projects H3 addresses both identified and felt physical, mental, educational, social, and spiritual needs. These activities have included running music/band clinics, providing vocational training, health education, food distribution to the poor, Vacation Bible School, women and men's ministry outreach, water filter distribution, playground equipment for two parks, Bible studies, home safety/improvement projects for elderly with exceptional need, eyeglass distribution, school supply assistance, Bible distribution, and giving ongoing assistance to impoverished elderly with special health needs.
Recently, H3 has also responded to two major emergencies in Coatzingo. After an large local earthquake in 2017, we helped raise money to provide 40 beds and mattresses for families that had theirs damaged. In 2022 two devastating earthquakes destroyed the in-progress excavation for a critical irrigation canal repair, and endangered the town's entire economy. God answered the community's desperate prayers: H3 successfully raised funding to cover the entire repair cost, including remaining supplies required. This irrigation canal repair has already helped prosper the farming community.
Through the ministry of H3, we hope not only to assist and encourage the community spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially,
but to inspire the community to extend these blessings to others. We hope you will be inspired to join us, whether on a trip or by giving financially to support our ministries.
Hearts and Hands of Hope is a 503(c) non-profit organization. All gifts are tax-deductible, but we believe you will also be greatly blessed!

Statement of Faith
“We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
One year after the earthquake that damaged the canal--
It is time to irrigate the fields!
IRRIGATION CANAL UPDATE!!
Two earthquakes in Sept. 2022, caused a landslide to refill much of the excavated canal area, just before culverts were to be set. Hearts and Hands of Hope assisted in finding full funding to help complete repairs.
We give thanks to the Lord, as many personal donations and one generous grant covered the $76,000 required and the canal repair work was completed in mid-January 2022.

The town's economy is based on agriculture, and they depend upon water from a nearby Atoyac river to water their crops. 14 years ago, there was a huge landslide that covered up the special irrigation canal from the river. The town managed to dig a narrow ditch to help access some of the water. In time, and especially more recently, this ditch has developed problems of its own, besides the fact that it was a very limited solution. The mayor hopes that somehow those who grew up and moved away from the area might be willing to send funds to help the town cover the $200k required for a permanent fix. Together, we can help them meet this goal, for the life of the farms and the community.

Special Project 2022
In 2022 our special project is helping clean and improve the covered kitchen and the outside premises of an elderly couple that has no local family to help them. This year (2022) we are bringing a team of 9 high school Spanish students who are excited to lend their muscles to bless them with their help! ¡Tan emocionante!
